Seaweed Sketches

Closer to pen and ink drawings, these images were shot on various beaches from Wester Ross to Northumberland and North Yorkshire.

As a complete change to Kate’s woodland images, the Seaweed sketches are distilled down to their true essence creating a minimalist, ethereal feeling.

Compared to the static nature of trees, these images were much more dynamic way of shooting because of the time constraints of working within the tidal range, every individual seaweed pausing only until the next wave arrived rearranging the scene.
